Chapter 10

Anxiety and Anticipation (不安と期待 Fuan to Kitai) is the name of the tenth chapter of the Bakuman Manga. It was published in Weekly Shōnen Jump on October 20, 2008.

Summary[]

When Mashiro and Takagi's manga is noticed in the honorable mentions for the Tezuka contest, classmate Ishizawa critisizes Moritaka's art and asks Takagi to team up with him instead. Angered at Mashiro being insulted, Takagi punches Ishizawa hard enough to throw him onto his back; he demands an apology from Ishizawa as Mashiro attempts to control him.

As a result of the punch (which Ishizawa deserved), Takagi is suspended. Mashiro visits his apartment after school, finding Miyoshi and Iwase inside with him. Both have crushes on him, but have differing ideas about him pursuing a career as a mangaka; Iwase is against it, but Miyoshi will support him. Though not really wanting a girlfriend, Takagi ends up with Miyoshi.
