Parent and Child is the third episode of the Bakuman anime. It first aired on October 16, 2010.
Overview[]
Mashiro and Takagi arrive at Mashiro's uncle's apartment. While looking through the boxes of manga names and manuscripts Moritaka goes outside to call his dad and apologize for thinking that his uncle committed suicide. They come across a box that contains all of the letters sent by Miyuki Haruno, Nobuhiro Mashiro's crush. In the box is also a yearbook. They find out that Miyuki is actually Azuki's mother. They decide to go see Azuki's mother and talk with her about her relationship with Nobuhiro Mashiro.

Differences from the Manga[]
- Moritaka is wearing different clothes from the manga while in his Uncle's workplace.
- In the manga, when Takagi was talking about his manga research, he brought up that swords were a commonality in many popular manga. In the anime, he mentions this in episode 8 while working on 1 Hundred Millionth.

- Koogy, a future rival of Moritaka and Takagi, is first mentioned twice in this episode. Once on the TV as Moritaka's father picks up the phone, and the second when girls are talking about his concert.
