Kyoichi Murasaki is a mystery writer that teamed up with artist Hanasaki Shun to write the mystery manga Crime-Solver Akechi Gosuke that was serialised in Shonen Week. It debuted in Issue 43 of Shonen Week, just 5 days before Detective Trap returned to Weekly Shōnen Jump. Mashiro thinks to himself that the story is better than Takagi's, while Takagi states that its really good, "like a mystery novel in manga form" and is unwilling to state whether Trap is better.
